What is a Colonic Polyps?


Colonic Polyps is a small growth of flash grown into the colon. These can eventually account for the second leading cause of cancer for men after lung caner.



Causes:


While not essential for life, the colon is an organ which extracts salts and water from consumed food at the end of the digestive track.


Symptoms:


Polyps fall into several varieties which may be precursors to bowel cancer. Neoplastic polyps are a type of growth which will eventually develop into a cancer.ColonicPolypsMany polyps show no symptoms and do not betray their presence while some polyp symptoms are suvere. Symptoms include: rectal bleeding, bloody stools, abdominal pain and fatigue. Constipation and diarrhoea also can result. If a polyp is large enough, it may obstruct a bowels movement and cause naussea vomiting and suvere constipation. A flexible sigmoidoscopy or large bowel test can often determine the presence of precancerous tumor. We know that many cancers develop from Polyps but we still do not know which polyps will develop into a cancer.
